Igniting Young Voices, Fueling Systemic Change

Welcome to the FLAME Initiative — a bold fellowship empowering the next generation of leaders to champion Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) equity in Cameroon. Through a powerful blend of advocacy, innovation, and grassroots action.

Fostering Transformative Leadership

FLAME Initiative aims to cultivate a generation of change-makers who redefine leadership in gender justice and health equity. Through this initiative, young advocates will be equipped with ethical leadership skills, conflict resolution strategies, and inclusive decision-making frameworks. Fellows emerge as confident leaders, capable of mobilizing communities and mentoring future SRHR champions.

Leveraging Advocacy for Policy Change

Through the fellowship, we aim to dismantle systemic barriers by ensuring laws reflect the needs of marginalized communities through grassroots campaigns, digital activism, and policy labs. Fellows will contribute towards influencing policies which will lead to expanded SRHR services, stricter GBV laws, and youth-friendly healthcare reforms

Ensuring Equity in SRHR Access

FLAME fellows will challenge discrimination by advocating for inclusive policies and culturally sensitive SRHR education to guarantee that SRHR rights are universal, regardless of identity or geography and that there is reduction in disparities in healthcare access, particularly for all

Mobilizing Innovative Solutions

Support tech-driven and community-led innovations that will bridge gaps in healthcare access through creativity and adaptability and advocate for increased access to SRHR information and services, even in crisis-affected regions

Amplifying Marginalized Voices

Flame Initiative seeks to create a movement where no voice is silenced in the advocacy for SRHR justice and elevate the stories of rural youth, conflict survivors, and underserved groups, ensuring their lived experiences shape solutions.

From Embers to Leaders

The FLAME Initiative—Fostering Leadership and Advocacy for Marginalized Equity—is more than a fellowship; it’s a catalyst for change. Rooted in the belief that true transformation begins with empowered youth, we equip emerging leaders across Cameroon with the tools, mentorship, and platforms to address critical Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) gaps.

To empower young advocates to lead systemic change in SRHR access through leadership, advocacy, and community-driven solutions.

A Cameroon where every young person—regardless of background—has equal access to SRHR information, services, and justice.

We are guided by the principles of equity, inclusion, and youth empowerment, driven by a spirit of innovation.
